With the credit crunch upon us and the cost of public transport rising, it’s not surprising that people are looking for alternative ways of saving money. An environmentally-friendly method of transport that is completely free helps you get fit into the bargain may sound too good to be true, but it exists in the form of a pair of inline skates, more commonly known as good old rollerblades!

If you live or work in London and have passed the Royal Albert Memorial recently, you may have spotted a few skaters in bright green helmets.  Meet Mark Davies, one of only three Level 3 ICP Master Instructors in the UK who has taught thousands of complete beginners to skate, many of whom are now some of the UK’s top skaters and instructors; Mark has now run rollerblading courses in Central London as part of the Skateinstructor.com sk8school which is one of only two internationally recognised ICP qualified skate school in the UK.

The health benefits of rollerblading are many; you can burn up to 600 calories an hour and because you work the major muscle groups, it’s a great way to sculpt your body.  It’s also a great way to meet new people, says Mark.

skateinstructor.com is one of the highest-qualified, internationally recognised ICP schools in the UK. We offer a full range of courses and private lessons for all age groups, for people who are interested in fun outdoors activities, or who want to get fit or lose weigh in a sociable and safe environment.
skateinstructor.com is led by Mark Davies who is one of only 8 ICP instructor examiners in the world. Mark has a vast amount of teaching experience and over the years has had the privilege of teaching thousands of people - many of them are now some of UK's top skaters and instructors.

For further information or to request an interview with Mark Davies, please contact us by phone (07753 489669) or by email (mark@skateinstructor.com).

Notes to Editors:

ICP stands for ‘Inline Certification Program'

The International Inline Skating Association was formed in 1991 as a non-profit organisation to advance inline skating as a recreational activity, competitive sport and prosperous industry.
